Depending on the type of group, ordinary users can
actively apply or join a group through passive invitation.
- A private group only allows the creator to
invite members to join the group. Other users cannot search, view,
or actively join the group.
- A public group supports two joining methods:
creator invitation and members' active joining application.
Apply to join a group
- Log in to iPortal, click "Groups"
on the navigation bar;
- On the "Groups" page, select
the "All Groups" tab on the sub-navigation bar, and select
"Unjoined Groups" on the "Type" pane of the left
panel, the right area lists all the groups that you can join. Find
one you want to join, click "View Details" of the group
item to join to enter the details page;
- Click the "Join Group" button
on the right, then you will be included in the group immediately.
If the group creator configured the join request review function,
you will be included in the group only if your request is approved.
Invite group members
- If you are the group creator, you can invite
members into your group. On the group details page, click the "Invite
Member" button on right, in the pop-up, search and check target
members via user name or nickname. If the number of portal users is
large, it is recommended that the administrator configure the username
search mode to fuzzy matching in the iportal.xml
configuration file to improve the lookup efficiency.
- Click "Send Invitation" to invite
users to the group. Invited users can view the invitation information
in "My Messages, or
directly click the
icon to view the invitation information on the
"Groups" page.
