When browsing the scene or analyzing it in 3D, you
can use the calculation controls provided in the interface to assist you
in your operations. The following is a detailed description of how to
use the Calculate function.
Measurement
You can measure distance, area and height. Click on
the
buttons
in the upper toolbar to perform calculations.
Spatial Measurement
- Spatial distance: Measure the straight line
distance in the scene.
- Height: Measure the height in the scene. If
there is terrain data in the area, the height is the height of the
considered terrain; otherwise, the starting point of the height measurement
is the surface of a smooth sphere.
- Spatial area: Measure the area in the scene.
The area value is obtained by calculating the coordinate points of
the measurement area without considering the terrain undulation.
Ground-based Measurement
- Ground-dependent distance: when the area to
be measured has terrain data, it is the distance according to the
terrain undulation; otherwise, it is the spherical distance.
- Ground-based area: Measure the area in the
scene. If there is terrain data in the area to be measured, it is
the area of terrain undulation.
- Projected Area: Measure the projected area
in the scene. The area value is obtained by calculating the latitude
and longitude values of the coordinate points in the measurement area
without considering the topographic relief and the height of the coordinate
points.
