SuperMap iPortal provides the resource sharing function.
You can perform sharing settings when you create a resource for the first
time, or you can modify the sharing settings for created resources in
'Resource Center > My Resources'. In addition, administrators with
resource management rights can manage the resources of all users and modify
their sharing settings. For more details, please see: Resource
Management.
The resource sharing scope includes private, public
(public search/view/edit) and designated (can specify departments, groups
and users to searchview/edit), where designated (departments, groups and
users) can be configured by the administrator in the iportal.xml
configuration file. For example, if the administrator has not enabled
sharing to departments, you will not see the designated department option
when sharing resources.
- Private: Only the author and the administrator
who has resource management rights are allowed to view/edit/delete
the resource, view/edit the resource details, and change the share
setting. The default sharing scope is private.
- Public Search: All users (including anonymous
users) can search and view resource details, but cannot view the resource.
The shared user needs to apply
for resource authorization for view permission.
- When sharing public search permission, you
can also share the view permission with designated departments/groups/users.
- Public view/download: All users (including
anonymous users) can view the resource and its details.
- If the resource is Hosted
data, the sharing scope supports public download.
- If the resource type is Notebook, shared users
can only view the resources and details, but cannot run code (requires
edit permissions).
- If the resource type is Map, Insights, Scene,
Mapdashboard, or Notebook, based on the public view permission, you
can assign the edit permission to designated departments, groups,
and users at the same time. For example, all users can view a beautiful
landscape halo map, but only the designated team can create and edit
it.
- Public edit: all logged-in users can edit the
resource and its details. Supported resource types include Map, Insight,
Scene, MapDashboard, Notebook.
- Designated:
- The designated one can be a department, a group,
or a user. Permissions include view (supported resource types: Data,
Service, Map, Insights, Scene, MapDashborad, Notebooks), edit (supported
resource types: Map, Insight, Scene, MapDashborad, Notebook), and
download (supported resource type: Data).
- When choosing "Designated", only
designated department/group/user can view shared resources with corresponding
permissions in "Resource Center > Public / Shared with me
/ My Organization / My Group".
- The designated department option requires that
the administrator has enabled the organizational
structure (disabled by default) and turned on sharing to department
configuration in the iportal.xml
configuration file (turned off by default).
- The designated group option requires that you
have joined at least one group (either as a group creator or a group
member) and have permission to contribute resources. That means only
groups to which you have permission to contribute resources will be
listed. For more information about creating, joining and using groups,
please see: Use group.
Meanwhile, the administrator needs to turn on the Share to Group configuration
in the iportal.xml
configuration file (turned on by default).
- The designated user option requires that the
administrator turns on the Share to User configuration in the iportal.xml
configuration file (turned on by default). The administrator can also
configure in the iportal.xml
configuration file whether to list all users when sharing to designated
users. If the number of users is large, the administrator can also
set the search mode to fuzzy match in the iportal.xml
configuration file to improve the efficiency of the search.
- If the service is set "designated view"
permission, you can limit
the accessible spatial extent at a finer level of granularity.
Once you have set sharing settings, the users can view
the shared resource from "Resource Center > Public / Shared with
Me / My Organization / My Group" to see the shared resources. Private
resources can only be viewed from "My Resources".
Note: If your
maps, insights, or mapdashboards contain associated resources whose sharing
permissions do not match, you will also need to choose whether to update
the sharing permissions for these resources simultaneously when setting
up sharing.
